SF Salon Music Presents: The Visual Language

April 7 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Visual Language

“Visual language” can take us through a cinematic story or change how we feel about the real-life figures we see on television and dance. By breaking down the uses of classical visual grammar from the masters of moviemaking, Jason Mann, the filmmaker will take us through a discussion of how these tenets are either used, subverted, or neglected in today’s cinema and media, from movies and streaming shows we all love to the news itself and political campaigns. We will also see how visual language is expressed through dance, performed by the Northern California Dance Conservatory.

SF Salon Music

SF Salon Music offers experiences that connect people with music and the arts. The name “Salon” comes from French, referring to the room in a French home where women received guests. SF Salon Music revives the spirit of the Salon. SF Salon Music was founded by Michelle Chang to share her love for music and the arts with you. Join us!
