The Woodchopper’s Ball – Closed for Independence Day

The Woodchopper’s Ball is closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 for the Independence Day holiday.  Please note that the July and August monthly classes will deviate slightly from our normal schedule by starting on the second Tuesday of the month (instead of the first), as follows:

July monthly classes: July 11, 18, 25, and August 1
August monthly classes: August 8, 15, 22, and 29

After that, we will resume our normal schedule in which monthly classes begin on the first Tuesday of the month.  Thank you for your understanding!

WOODCHOPPER’S BALL:

The Woodchopper’s Ball, San Francisco’s swing hot spot, is a weekly Tuesday night swing dance event held at the historic Verdi Club in San Francisco’s Mission district. Named after the classic 1939 swing tune by the Woody Herman Orchestra (and their biggest hit!), it features monthly classes, a full bar (21+ only), and a dance party with a drop-in lesson and the largest variety of live swing dance music in town!

* LIVE MUSIC DANCE PARTY, 9:00-11:30pm, with a different band each week! $15 admission, all ages. Includes a drop-in Basic Swing dance lesson (9:00-9:15pm), perfect for complete beginners (no partner required)!

* FULL BAR & LOUNGE, 7:30pm-closing (21+ only)! Enjoy a classic cocktail in the swanky vintage bar and lounge!

* 2,500-SQ-FT DANCE FLOOR: Large, beautiful, hardwood dance floor with plenty of room to swing out!

LINDY HOP and BALBOA monthly class series continue tonight, 7:00-9:00pm. Single Monthly Class drop-in: $25/person/week (includes Dance Party!), no partner required.

7:00-8:00pm: Monthly Int Lindy Hop & Collegiate Shag Fundamentals Classes

7:30pm-closing: Full Bar Open (21+ only)

8:00-9:00pm: Monthly Beg Lindy Hop & Balboa Fundamentals Classes

9:00-9:15pm: Drop-In Basic Swing Dance Lesson

9:00-11:30pm: Live Music Dance Party
